JERK IT! (playjerkit.com) is a free browser game by Somos Media. This page explains what data the game handles, why, and what you can do about it.
Who runs the game
Operator: Somos Media (somosmedia.co).
Contact for any privacy question or request: info@playjerkit.com.
Data you give us
Account: your e-mail address, password (stored hashed by our hosting platform) and the player name you choose. If you sign in with Google, we receive the name and e-mail of that Google account.
Scores: the score, level, game mode and skin of every run you save. Saved scores appear on the public leaderboard together with your player name.
Friends and challenges: the friend links you create and the challenge results between you.
Feedback: anything you type into the feedback form.
Data stored on your device
The game keeps your language, progress, best score, settings, onboarding state and your cookie choice in the browser's local storage. This stays on your device and is not sent anywhere unless you save a score with an account. You can clear it any time in your browser settings.
Statistics (only with your consent)
If you accept cookies in the banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and game modes are used. We only look at aggregated numbers. If you decline, no Google Analytics script loads and no analytics cookie is set. You can change your choice through "Cookie settings" in the footer.
Service providers
Hosting, sign-in and the database run on Base44 (base44.com), which processes the data needed to run the app and keeps technical logs.
Google: Google Analytics (with consent) and Google sign-in (if you choose it). When Arabic is selected, the Arabic font is loaded from Google Fonts, which sends your IP address to Google.
How long we keep it
Account data and scores are kept until you ask us to delete them. Feedback messages are kept as long as needed to act on them.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, a copy of your data, and you can object to processing. Write to the contact address above and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the data protection authority of your country.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
